The Earth Abides Forever, sequel to Ernest Hemingway’s, The Sun Also Rises

Jackie Hemingway announces her most ambitious writing project to date. After she completes her current Lady in Red series of books she will be tackling the most ambitious story of her lifetime. She will write a sequel to Ernest Hemingway’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel, The Sun Also Rises.

“It’s an idea I’ve had in the back of my mind since I was quite young,” the writer stated. “ I have always wanted the story to continue and take the characters to another level.”

The Pulitzer Prize contending author admits that it is going to be an extremely challenging project, but one that she feels up to once she completes her current book series.

“Currently I am knee-deep in my Lady in Red series. I am trying to wrap it up with my current novel, Lady Misled. Once that is completed I will delve into this new project. I’m really kind of excited and looking forward to it. But first things first.”

Hemingway first read The Sun Also Rises when she was seven years old. Admitting that a portion of the novel was over her head at such a young age, she has continued to read the novel many times throughout her life.

“Every time I read it I learn, I feel, I embrace different parts and elements of the story and of the character arcs. It’s always enjoyable to read a novel more than once. You can miss so many things of the author’s intentions by reading a book just one time.”

When asked about when she would be finished with her current book series, Hemingway said, “that’s a tough one. There is so much going on in the series that I’m trying to get down in this current novel, it might take one more book to finish out the series after Lady Misled, but we’ll see.”

Hemingway hopes to have Lady Misled completed and ready for publication in early spring 2026. It will be available in paperback and e-book format on the Amazon and Barnes & Noble bookstores.
