I have lived through the 1960s and 70s and have seen the deteriorated race relations, the civil rights movement, the forced busing and all the rest. I never thought I’d live to see the day where a Black politician would express their desire for the return of slavery, and their desire to own slaves. Enter North Carolina Republican lieutenant governor Mark Robinson onto the scene.
How this individual ever rose to the political position he has looking back over his comments over the last decade is unimaginable. He self-admittedly was a peeping Tom at the age of 14 spying on girls in the shower at a public gym. He has made numerous sexually explicit comments on a variety of websites including the pornographic website Nude Africa under the username ‘minisoldr’. He has used this username on many of his social media platforms including Twitter and now he sits and tries to deny the link between him, his username, and his comments and beliefs. How stupid does one have to be to use the same username over and over for such a long period of time? Perhaps he is just extremely lazy and unimaginative.
He has shown a fetish interest in transgender sex over the years and has made comments as such on the internet, again, using the username, ‘minisoldr’. However, as a conservative, now he screams at the top of his lungs against homosexuality, the LGBT community, transgender bathroom use, and many, many more issues.
Mark Robinson has stated that he is a Black Nazi. Isn’t that something of an oxymoron? I mean, Adolf Hitler did not like Black people. They were persecuted by the Nazis and there was a systemic program targeting Black people for murder. Many were imprisoned and forcibly sterilized by the Nazis. And this Black man admires Hitler? Does Mark Robinson understand that he is a Black man? If he was in Germany back then he would have been executed or sent to a concentration camp! His total ignorance about history is astonishing.
Mark Robinson has advocated for the return of slavery to the United States. In fact he wants to own a few! Does Mark Robinson not know that Black people were slaves in America? Again, does Mark Robinson not know that he is a Black man? So is he in a roundabout way saying he wants slavery back and he’s going to enjoy being a slave? Because if you return slavery as it existed in the United States, I’m afraid ol’ Mr. Robinson would be up on the auction block being sold to a plantation owner! Now, being a fairly rotund gentleman I’m not sure how well he would fair picking cotton in the fields. Again, this man has no concept of US or world history and he has no business being in public office or politics of any kind. His complete ignorance is mind-boggling! That’s not even saying anything about the dolts that elected this moron. Don’t get me started on that one!
As a former ordained minister I recall years ago a pastor I knew who used to rail against pornography in many of his sermons on Sunday morning. He would stand there fervently almost to the point of a flushed face and sweaty brow proclaiming the negative ills of pornography. It got to such a concerning point for me that I took him to lunch one day and as we sat across from each other at the small town diner we enjoyed congregating at, and I asked him pointedly if he was involved somehow with viewing or using pornography. It struck me as odd that his overly-passionate point of view on the matter and how often he brought it up not just in sermons but in conversation was concerning to me.
He looked at me with a completely shocked look on his face that melted into a fearful shame which then became slow tears running down his cheeks. He admitted that he had an addiction to pornography and that his sermons were his outlet of relieving his guilt over doing so. He was more amazed that I was able to ferret out his addiction. I told him it was simply because he was talking about it so much, that was the giveaway.
You see, not always but quite often, the person in the room screaming the loudest against a certain thing is often the one who is guilty of committing that very thing they are condemning.
My pastor friend went on for a considerable amount of time about his problem and how long he had it and what it entailed. I told him he was going to have to fess up to it, first to his wife, and then to the congregation. This was something he did not want to do and initially was very reluctant to do so. I told him he had two weeks to tell his wife before I was going to. It was the only respectful thing he could do when it came to his family. He finally did confess to his wife, and the next Sunday he stood before the congregation and admitted his problem openly and honestly.
Now, there were definitely some shocked faces among the parishioners. Some even wanted him fired from his position as head pastor. Behind the scenes I lobbied for him to be given the chance to seek help for his issues and to fix them before the thought of terminating him was given any real consideration. Everyone deserves another chance, I would often proclaim. He went on to stay pastor of that church for the remainder of his time on earth before passing away from a heart attack years later. A number of years after that, I chose to resign my 14 year-long ordination as a minister in June of 2024 as I did not want to be associated and identified as a minister with the ever-increasing right-wing uber conservative religious movement that is plaguing our country today. I had previously, years before resigning, walked away from religion after realizing there is no real divine truth in any religion other than the man-made ideas that created them. I have never been more free in my life since.
I have read things written by Mark Robinson and I have watched him raise his voice against so many issues he is against and it makes me wonder along the lines of my old pastor friend, what is Mark Robinson doing in the darkness that he is afraid of that he stands in the light condemning at the top of his lungs? He has stated on the Nude Africa pornographic website that he enjoys watching transgender-on-girl sex and called himself a ‘her’. All the identifying details, his full name, date of birth, email and more have all been undeniably linked directly to Robinson. However, as all bad politicians do, when caught red-handed, they lie about it! Clearly he has issues that are unresolved in his life just as my pastor friend had in his life.
I do not think that someone as volatile as Mark Robinson deserves to be in office or should hold any type of political or public office that holds public trust or responsibility. If he has a shred of decency within him, if he has one ounce of integrity or any ethics whatsoever, he will admit his transgressions and he will step down from his position as lieutenant governor and drop out of the race for governor of North Carolina. That is the only course of action that is rational at this point. Anyone that votes for a degenerate candidate, whether for governor or president, deserves the end result they get. I am confident the claims about Robinson will be held up as true from this day going forward.
Trump has come out in support of Mark Robinson in the past calling him, “a great friend of mine” and “ Martin Luther King on steroids.” The saying, birds of a feather flock together comes to my mind. I wonder what Trump thinks about Mark Robinson‘s comments and his past behaviors, considering his own when it comes to women and all the rest of the garbage he has spewed out of his hate-filled mind.
It is a pathetic state that our political arena has sunk into in the last number of years. Gone are any hopes of bipartisanship. Gone are any hopes of civility among the masses. Gone are the hopes of love and peace instead of hate and violence that is demonstrated across this country each and every day. Gone are the hopes of friends and neighbors coming together in harmony instead of discord and judgment. It is a sad time indeed to be a peaceful and loving American these days.
